Bands:
Here are just some of the great bands who rock the CMV.

2 Adam 12

"There is a new king of cool and his name is Adam Payne. If you tried to group him in a category with other artists you’d be hard pressed because he has created a niche all his own. Ranging from laid back R&B Grooves to stripped down acoustic performances, Adam Payne is sure to bring something to the table that everyone can enjoy.
Unlike so many of today’s artists, Adam Payne is a true individual who does what he wants to do and that is something to be respected. A well rounded musician and singer/songwriter, be sure to remember the name Adam Payne."
- Jason Savio, LORE Music Group |
Amorphous Band

Guitarist/Producer Chris O'Neill "formed" the Amorphous Band in 1995 and created a permanent underground of players who have inspired a sound and life all their own. With a two year residency at Dover NH's Barley Pub, a line-up gelled and the band became a staple on the NE circuit, playing gigs from Bar Harbor to Block Island, Burlington to Brookline and everywhere in between. |
Calypso Soldiers

The Calypso Soldiers are a dynamic 7-piece band, that uses it's blend of modern and classic rock, funk, country, and blues to bring in an exciting, good time. Covering a broad range of artists from all genres of music, as well as showcasing their own diverse and unique original material. The Calypso soldiers have had several musicians colaborate with them from time to time, but as of 2006, their line-up has been rock-solid and tighter than a dolphin's butt (water tight). The Soldiers consist of: Ethan Savage on Lead Vocals, Brant Miller on Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals, Seth ‘Hubcap’ Hubley on Drums and Percussion, Chuck Reed on Lead Guitar, T.J. ‘Hammer Time’ Card on Soprano and Tenor Sax, Paul Meng on Tenor Sax and Bass Guitar and Andrew ‘Yogi’ Ayers ..s and Synthesizer. The Calypso Soldiers play regularly all over Maine and the surrounding New England states at bars, pubs, clubs and various other venues. Don’t miss your chance to see one of New England’s premiere party bands. |
Chicken Slacks
Classic American Soul Revue
The Chicken Slacks are dedicated to the re-creation of an authentic soul revue show featuring a larger-than-average band. A tight rhythm section, gritty horns, and a stirring star vocalist combine to create a powerful stage presence and big sound to which audiences immediately respond. The band delivers high-energy music for people to dance, romance, bump, grind, sway, stumble, sing along, reminisce, celebrate, and get down to. The Chicken Slacks are Boston area musicians who have toured nationally and internationally. They make an immediate impression on their audiences and clients with their young look, professional work ethic and dedication to the live show. What is SOUL music, you ask? There are many definitions, but it began with Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, spread in Memphis with STAX records and Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Rufus Thomas, and the gang. It made its way to MUSCLE SHOALS with Wilson Picket and Aretha Franklin. The MOTOWN sound has a soul thing, with Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone took soul and made it into FUNK, paving the way for Tower of Power and Blood Sweat and Tears. Soul also morphed into R&B and disco, with Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees among the champions. Within this musical milieu are the names and songs we all know and love, but also hundreds of forgotten tunes by forgotten soulsters just as worthy to be performed and just as great to dance to. Its all about the groove. This is SOUL. This is what we do.
